EXPRESSING unhappiness over lack of support by the Congress government in Karnataka to bring new industries to the state, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H D Kumaraswamy said that no minister or senior Congress leaders approached him and discussed the proposals prior to the Union Budget.

The Congress leaders have no moral right to criticise the budget, he said. Lauding Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting one of the comprehensive budgets, he said that no minister or Congress leader had approached him to discuss any proposals attached to his ministry.

"There is a lack of support by the Congress government to take vital decisions in the interest of his home state," he said. Stating that major industries, including KIOCL in Karnataka, shut due to alleged policies of the state government, he said his ministry cannot rejuvenate it due to alleged conspiracy and political vendetta.
