We cannot let outsiders take credit for something like ceasefire, says Tanveer Sait

EXPRESSING concern over the issue surrounding the ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan, KPCC working president and Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait questioned the lack of transparency in national security matters and called for greater clarity from the Central government.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Sait said the decision to call a ceasefire must come from within the country and not be influenced or claimed by others, as projected.

"When it comes to national security, we, as a nation, must take decisions. We cannot let outsiders take credit for something like a ceasefire," he said.

"If the ceasefire came into effect at 5pm and continued through the night, why was there still shelling? Who interfered or played the role in the discussion? Prime Minister Narendra Modi must answer these questions. Were any of our aircraft damaged? Why are such crucial details being kept in the dark?" he questioned.
