Shanthalli Govt School Hosts Series of Events to Celebrate Its Centenary

SHANTALLI Government Senior Model Primary School, which started in 1924 with just one classroom, celebrated its centenary on Sunday. Senior teachers, students, dignitaries, alumni and villagers took part in the event held on the school premises.
With the resolve to preserve and develop the school which currently has 21 students, the Centenary Celebration Committee organised grand events for the past three days and concluded the celebrations with a closing ceremony on Sunday that included a hobli-level sports meet. The government school, which has completed 100 years, was slightly repaired and whitewashed with a new welcome arch and an idol of Sharadamba was installed in the school interior. Various programmes were organised as part of the centenary. A health camp was successfully conducted under the leadership of Dr. Dhananjaya Medappa and 365 people benefited from the camp. Several cultural programmes unfurled as part of the event, and a procession was held on the main street of Shantall
