Water getting stagnated, posing threat to agriculture fields and residential areas due to obstruction in natural estuary
The construction of a fisheries harbour worth Rs 180.84 crore by the port and fisheries department in Hejamady, south of Udupi has blocked the natural flow of river water through an estuary and triggered concerns among the locals in the Nadikudru area.
As the natural estuary was obstructed during the ongoing harbour project, it stagnated the water flow, which is threatening the agriculture fields and residential areas.
