Punjab Police bust US-based extortion racket

PUNJAB Police has busted a major extortion racket operated by US-based gangster Gurdev Jassal with the arrest of two persons linked with the syndicate, including an assistant sub-inspector.
The accused officer, ASI Surjit Singh posted in Batala, has been dismissed from service after recovery of ₹83 lakh alleged extortion money, illegal firearms, and luxury vehicles from possession of the accused.
