Arrest Accused in Minor Girl's Harassment Case, Demands Dalit Forum

KARNATAKA Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (Prof. B Krishnappa Faction) has demanded that Dakshina Kannada police arrest Mahesh Bhat, accused in the alleged sexual harassment of a minor Dalit girl at Manila village near Vitla in Bantwal taluk.
Addressing a press conference in Mangaluru on Wednesday, Sadashiva Padubidri, district convenor of the Samiti said, "We condemn delay in the arrest of the accused. It has been a week since the victim's parents complained about Mahesh. Despite filing an FIR, the police have not arrested him and appear to assist him indirectly in securing bail.
