52 kite flyers from around the world to take part
MANGALURU'S Tannir Bhavi Beach, renowned as one of India's premier kite-flying destinations, is set to host the highly anticipated 8th ONGC-MRPL International Kite Festival on January 18 and 19.
As part of the vibrant Karavali Utsava celebrations, the event promises an exhilarating display of kites, innovative flying techniques, and cultural exchange.
Organised by Team Mangalore, the festival will feature 52 kite flyers from around the globe, which includes 22 international participants from the UK, Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Estonia, Italy, Sweden, Portugal, and Indonesia.
Additionally, 30 skilled Indian flyers from Odisha, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala will join the festivities.
The sky will be painted with a stunning variety of kites, from traditional designs and aerofoils to imaginative inflatable creations, with a special focus on quad-line sport kites.
