228 People Underwent Cochlear Implant Surgery at GRH in 9 Years

A total of 228 people have undergone free cochlear implant surgery at the Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) since it was introduced in the hospital in January 2016.
According to a reply given by the hospital to a RTI query filed by activist Veronica Mary, the highest number of beneficiaries was 39 in 2019 and the lowest was 8 in 2020.
