UDF Announces Hunger Strike Over Alleged Graft in Chamravattom Project

The UDF Malappuram district committee has announced protests demanding a comprehensive investigation into alleged corruption related to the Chamravattom regulator-cum-bridge project and strict action against those responsible.
As the first phase of the agitation, UDF district chairman P T Ajay Mohan and convener Ashraf Kokkur will stage a hunger strike at Chamravattom next Monday. Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan will inaugurate the protest, while Muslim Youth League state president Panakkad Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal will inaugurate the concluding session. Ajay Mohan and Ashraf Kokkur alleged that the regulator-cum-bridge had become a ‘cash cow’ for corruption.
