Security Tightened at Tourist Spots Amid Rising Incidents of Drowning

Lifeguards deployed at key beaches, with warning boards installed at various locations
SAFETY measures have been strengthened at major tourist attractions, including Thusharagiri, Arippara waterfalls, Vadakara sandbanks, Kadalundi bird sanctuary, Kappad beach, Pathankayam waterfalls, Poovaranthodu, Kakkadampoyil, and Kozhippara waterfalls, under the District Tourism Promotion Council, in response to increasing tourist footfall and recurring drowning incidents. Lifeguards have been deployed at key beaches, with danger warning boards installed at various locations.
In a recent instance, Vallikkunnu (Malappuram) native Ramees Sahishad, 20, drowned in Pathankayam waterfalls on Wednesday. He was among a group of ten youths who reached Pathankayam on five motorcycles.
