Police to strengthen curbs to ease traffic congestion near Kozhrly stn

Limited space for autorickshaws at platform no. 1 and no. 4 at the station a major issue
The traffic police will strengthen its intervention to control autorickshaw bays at both gates of the Kozhikode railway station. Although this system has been in place for years, the traffic congestion is getting worse at peak hours and autorickshaw drivers and traders often control the traffic. The police decided to make its service more efficient after Human Rights Commission Judicial Member K Byjunath observed that when traffic congestion in the railway station area worsens, it is not the right approach to have autorickshaw workers directly handle traffic control.
