WITH local body elections scheduled for November this year and assembly elections next year, a new political movement based in central Travancore appears to be gaining traction in Kottayam.
Two years after an unsuccessful attempt to launch a new political party, some former leaders of the Kerala Congress are preparing to reignite their plans for a political movement, presumably with the backing of the BJP. Claimed to have the support of a section of Catholic bishops, they plan to launch a new political outfit to challenge the mainstream political fronts in the state.
