After youth loses life during shoot of promotional video, MVD suspends Sabith's driving licence & initiates steps to cancel vehicle's regn

THE VELLAYIL police on Wednesday arrested Sabith Rahman, a resident of Manjeri, who was driving the Benz car that caused the accident on Tuesday, killing a youth on Beach Road.
The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) has suspended Sabith's driving license and initiated steps to cancel the vehicle's registration.
A 21-year-old youth lost his life after being struck by a car during the filming of a promotional video on Kozhikode Beach Road. The victim, Alvin T K, is the son of Suresh and Bindu, of Thachileri in Kadameri, Vadakara. Alvin was filming a high-speed chase scene involving two luxury cars when the accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday near the Vellayil police station. The promotional reel was for 999 Automotive, a car accessories company.
Alvin was working as a videographer in a relative's company in the Gulf. He had returned to his hometown for a check-up related to a kidney transplant he underwent two years ago. Since he had previously created reels for the same company, they reached out to him again when he came back.
Witnesses said that Alvin was standing in the middle of the road filming two cars racing parallel when he attempted to move aside but was struck by one of the vehicles.
