THE Centre on Saturday earmarked Rs 6,81,210 crore for the defence sector in the Union Budget for the year 2025-26. This represents a 9.53 per cent increase compared to last year's budget of ₹6,21,540 crore.
Last year's budget allocation was increased by ₹28,003 crore over the defence budget for 2023-24 which was ₹5,93,537 crore. In terms of percentage, the Defence Budget for the Financial Year 2025-26 has been increased by 9.6%.
