Retail market participation amid global crisis shows strong fundamentals: FM

FINANCE minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday said the massive surge in retail participation in the Indian equity markets amid global uncertainties is a reflection of the country's strong economic fundamentals.
Given global interconnectedness, Indian economy is not isolated from global risks and challenges, she said while addressing the 150th year celebration of the BSE, the oldest bourse in Asia and also is the world's largest exchange in terms of listed companies. "We offer investors a combination of policy stability and growth, governance and innovation, macroeconomic and prudent policies, democratic institutions and youthful dynamism," she said.
