Production Resumes as Travancore Cements Looks to Build Itself Back

DAYS after the Kerala High Court cleared the decks on liquidating its landed assets, cash-strapped public sector unit Travancore Cements Ltd (TCL) has initiated steps to revive operations.
Company officials said manufacturing of white cement and wall putty products has resumed after a month-long suspension, using working capital of ₹1.5 crore sanctioned under special direction from Industries Minister P Rajeeve. The company has also unveiled a three-phase restoration plan to stabilise the company that has long struggled to stay solvent.
