PATHANAMTHITTA district continues to reel under heavy rainfall, with swollen rivers, flooding affecting several low-lying areas and displacing around 140 people of 40 families.
Persistent downpours and strong winds have exacerbated the situation in the hilly areas, causing widespread damage to houses, infrastructure, and agriculture.
According to the officials, as many as 197 houses have been partially damaged, with four completely destroyed. Thiruvalla has reported the highest number of damaged houses at 53, followed by Ranni with 37, Adoor with 32, and Kozhencherry with 31. The taluks of Konni and Mallappally each recorded 22 houses affected.
