Mallassery bids adieu to 4, including newlyweds

GRIEF enveloped Mallassery and uncontrollable sobs rented the air on Thursday as a massive crowd paid respects to the four members of a family, including a newlywed couple, who were killed in a car-bus collision near Koodal in the early hours of December 15.
The bodies of Nikhil, 30, his wife Anu, 27, Nikhil's father Mathai Eapen and Anu's father Biju George were laid to rest at St Mary's Malankara Catholic Church, Poonkavu in Mallassery.
Heart-wrenching scenes unfolded as family and friends broke down when the final rites of the couple were held in the same parish where their marriage was solemnised on November 30.
