Arrangements in place for Pongala at Chakkulathukavu on December 13

THE authorities of Chakkulathukavu Bhagavathy Temple have made all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the pongala festival, which will be held on December 13.
"The rituals will begin with Ganapathi homam at 4 am and Vilichucholli prarthana at 8.30 pm. The pongala will be inaugurated by Union minister Suresh Gopi at 9 am. Temple chief karyadarshi Radhakrishnan Nampoothiri will preside over the ceremony. The fire will be exchanged from the sreekovil to 'pandara aduppu', and later to the hearths arranged by devotees. Around 500 priests will take part in the rituals," temple karyadarshi Manikuttan Nampoothiri said.
