IN a tournament where teams have scored at 9.4 runs per over on average during the powerplay, more often than not the impetus has been on being explosive with the bat in the first six overs.
Not a lot of teams/bowlers have tried to go the other way around, trying to break the game in the powerplay with the ball. Gujarat Titans did it well at home and it shows why KG Rabada leads the powerplay wickets tally — 17 off his 24 wickets came in that phase — followed by the OG new ball bowler — Bhuvneshwar Kumar (15 out of overall 24) — and Mohammed Siraj (13).
