THE HISTORIC Government Guest House at Ashramam, once a proud symbol of colonial-era architecture, now lies in a state of disrepair, engulfed by wild vegetation and total neglect. Closed for renovation in February 2020, the structure was earmarked for restoration under a ₹10.89-crore project funded by the Tourism Department. However, the project has stalled midway, and the building now resembles a haunted ruin.
