AS THE local body election is nearing, the P J Joseph faction of the Kerala Congress has initiated steps to reinforce its political base in central Travancore by highlighting localised issues affecting people.
The party has already launched a mass agitation demanding the state government to take urgent steps to clean up and restore the fragile ecosystems of the Vembanad lake, taking into account the severe ecological challenges threatening the Kuttanad and Upper Kuttanad regions.
