Kannada actor Ranya held for smuggling gold

KANNADA actress Ranya Rao, said to be the daughter of a serving senior IPS officer, was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Monday night for allegedly smuggling 14.8kg of gold worth ₹12.5 crore from Dubai into the city.
Airport sources said she landed in Bengaluru on an Emirates flight and was intercepted at the immigration section. Rao had hidden the gold inside the clothes that she was wearing, they said. Since she
