7 killed, scores hurt as stage collapses in UP

AT least seven people were killed and over 60 were injured after a 65-ft high makeshift stage collapsed during a religious event of Jain community in Baghpat district of western Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
As per the Baghpat District Magistrate Asmita Lal, the incident happened at around 7.15 am at CPU school in Baraut, 20 km from Baghpat. A massive crowd of devotees had descended on the venue to celebrate 'Nirvana Laddu Pa
