The discontent of Congress MLAs over the district in-charge minister and the lack of coordination between officials and MLAs in the administration were revealed at the district-level KDP meeting held at the Zilla Panchayat Hall in Raichur on Friday.
At the beginning of the meeting, Congress MLA from Maski R Basanagouda Turvihal raised the issue of the failure of the implementation of the Jaladhare project. "The officials have not held a meeting in my constituency regarding the implementation of the Jaladhare project. You being the district in-charge minister, did not respond to us," he complained. This led to an argument between District in-charge minister Dr Sharan Prakash Patil and MLA R Basanagouda Turvihal.
Congress MLC Basanagouda Badarli and JDS MLA Karemma G Nayak also said that no meetings on the Jaladhare project were held in Sindhanur and Devadurga taluks. On the demand of the MLAs, the officials of the Rural Drinking Water Supply Department, who had failed to implement the Jaladhare project, were sent out of the meeting.
