By holding programmes like Jana Spandana (Public Contact Programmes), I will try to solve problems of the people by bringing government and officials to their doorstep, said Kalaburagi South MLA Allamaprabhu Patil, at Melakunda village of Kalaburagi-South constituency on Saturday.
Participating in the Jana Spandana programme held in Melakunda (B) village on Saturday, Allamaprabhu listened to the grievances of the people, said that those who raise questions (leaders of opposition parties) about development should witness this meeting. The petitions and grievances of people are being accepted and resolved in such meetings. A multi-crore project being implemented here, isn't it development, he asked, while adding that implementation of guarantees given by Congress Party is also development work.
The MLA said this is his 6th Jana Spandana programme and 112 grievances have been received here. Out of these, on the spot solutions have been found for 11 problems. Solutions to other grievances would be provided in the coming days, Allamaprabhu added.
The MLA, who disbursed widow pension and old age pension under the social security pension scheme, said that officials of concerned departments would visit houses of beneficiaries and help them get pensions.
A villager, Manjunath of Kadanal, who attended the meeting, drew the attention of the MLA over not providing bus facility to the village. He said that the village has been deprived of bus facility on the pretext that there is no space for turning a bus, he said.
