Man Gets Death Penalty For Raping, Killing Minor

IN one of the rare judgments in the history of Kalaburagi courts, a Kalaburagi court awarded capital punishment on April 19 to an accused who raped a minor and later killed her.
In a press statement released here on Monday Special Public Prosecutor Shantveera B Tuppad said that the victim who was a minor of the age of 10 years and one month and the resident of a village of Aland taluk was going towards Jawali (D) village from Devantagi village on July 17, 2023 and at the time the accused Gunderao Chopade, who is the resident of a village coming under the jurisdiction of Nimbarga police station and, working in his field, noticed the girl was coming alone.
