Himanta Slams Yunus for 'B'desh Only Guardian of Indian Ocean' Remarks

ASSAM Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday condemned the remarks made by Chief Advisor of the interim Bangladesh government Muhammad Yunus claiming Bangladesh is the sole guardian of the Indian Ocean for the northeastern region of India.
"The statement made by Yunus of Bangladesh's so-called interim government referring to the seven sister states of Northeast India as landlocked and claiming Bangladesh is their guardian to accessing the Indian Ocean is offensive and strongly condemnable," Sarma posted on X.
He said the statement underscored the persistent vulnerability narrative associated with India's strategic "Chicken's Neck" corridor.
