Finally, K'taka Govt Buys Land in Goa to Build Kannada Bhavan

IN a landmark decision, the Karnataka Government has purchased private land in Goa to construct a Kannada Bhavan, fulfilling a long-pending demand of the Kannada-speaking population residing across the state border.
The project is being undertaken by the Karnataka Border Area Development Authority (KBADA) under the chairmanship of Somanna Bevinamarad, who chaired a detailed review meeting on Wednesday in Panaji, Goa.
The meeting was held at Hotel Kesarval Garden near Verna Junction, Panaji, and was attended by KBADA officials, including Prakash Mattihalli, along with representatives from various Kannada organisations in Goa.
Among them were Siddanna Meti of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat Goa unit, Hanumanth Reddy, Shirur, Tavarappa, Rajesh Shetty, Tadival, and Shivanand Bingi.
