Debt Collection Agencies Driving UPI Transactions With 12.8% Value Share

DEBT collection agencies are driving the massive jump in UPI transactions where daily volumes have been increasing from ₹75,743 crore in January 2025 to ₹80,919 crore in July and further to ₹90,446 crore so far in August, with 12.8% of the total value being controlled by them while their volume contribution is a low 1.3%. The second slot is with groceries.

The debt collection agencies' transaction value has increased to ₹93,857 crore in July 2025 from ₹80,789 in April 2025, while the ticket size has declined to ₹5,817 from ₹5,952, it added.
