B'gavi farmers demand urgent urea supply amid crop crisis

MEMBERS of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sanghatana and Green Brigade submitted a memorandum to the District Administration demanding the urgent distribution of urea to farmers in Belagavi on Monday.
The memorandum highlighted the severe impact of unseasonal rains and fertiliser shortages on this year's Kharif crop. According to the groups, the 2025 Kharif season began under extreme pressure. Farmers were unable to prepare their land properly due to unexpected rains that began in May. Forced to sow hastily, they later faced stagnant water in the fields, which damaged soil texture and stunted crop growth.
