FOR the first time the leaders of all sub-castes and all political parties belonging to Veerashiva and Lingayat communities have joined hands to celebrate 892nd Basava Jayanti on April 30.
Forgetting the party lines here on Sunday, minister for medical education Dr Sharanaprakash Patil, minister for small-scale industries Sharanabasappa Darshanapur, MLAs M Y Patil and Allamaprabhu Patil, president of district Veerashaiva-Lingayat Mahasabha Sharanakumar Modi (all these leaders of Congress Party), MLC Shasil Namoshi, former MLA Dattatreya Patil Revoor, former MLC Amarnath Patil and Arunkumar Patil Kudalahangarga (all these leaders belonging to BJP), former MLA Doddappa Gowda Patil Naribol belonging to JD(S), secretary of Sharanabasaveshwara Vidya Vafrdhak Sangha Basavaraj Deshmukh and president of V
