₹5k fine for using potable water to wash cars, gardening

ANTICIPATING scarcity during summer, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has decided to take stringent action against those wasting drinking water.
In an order issued on Monday, the board stated that a fine of Rs 5,000 will be imposed on individuals using drinking water for gardening, washing cars, cleaning roads, etc. An additional Rs 500 per day will be slapped on those who continue to violate the order.
