505 Detained as Cops Resume Crackdown on Drug Addicts

HUBBALLI Dharwad police resumed its crackdown on drug addicts and peddlers and detained 505 suspects in the city.
All these suspects were taken for medical screening to confirm whether they have consumed banned drugs like marijuana. The screening was done at KIMS Hospital in Hubballi on Friday.
Nearly 40 per cent of the people have tested positive and have confessed that they consumed drugs. Cases will be registered and further action will be taken. This is the fifth such drive after N Shashi Kumar assumed the charge as Hubballi Dharwad police commissioner.
