AFTER recommendations by human rights groups, the Maharashtra cabinet on Tuesday decided to extend financial compensation to the family members of custodial death victims.

AFTER recommendations by human rights groups, the Maharashtra cabinet on Tuesday decided to extend financial compensation to the family members of custodial death victims. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired the cabinet meeting, which decided that compensation would be provided to the heirs of prisoners in custody in the state if they die due to unnatural causes.
