Skyroot founders are role models for youth: Modi

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

INDIA'S private space sector reached a new orbit as Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled the Vikram-1 orbital rocket, a launch vehicle built by startup Skyroot Aerospace. Modi launched the Vikram-1 via video conference and also inaugurated Skyroot's new Infinity Campus in Hyderabad.

Addressing the gathering, the prime minister said that the nation is witnessing an unprecedented opportunity in the space sector and that India's space ecosystem is taking a major leap with the private sector taking flight. He extended his best wishes to Skyroot Aerospace founders Pawan Chandana and Bharath Daka, noting that the two young entrepreneurs are an inspiration for countless young space innovators across the country. He stressed that both of them trusted themselves and did not shy away from taking risks, and as a result, the entire nation, proud of their achievements, is witnessing their success today.
