Airtel will abide by govt decision on AGR relief

BHARTI AIRTEL will abide by whatever decision the Department of Telecommunications takes regarding its adjusted gross revenue (AGR) relief, said Gopal Vittal, managing director of Airtel on Wednesday.

Vittal, speaking at the Q1 post-earnings call, stated the company is prepared to meet its payment obligations regardless of the government's decision. Airtel, country's second-largest telecom service provider, urged the government to convert its AGR dues of about ₹40,000 crore into equity.
