Youth Jailed Over Derogatory SM Post

An inappropriate social media post causing harm to the social fabric created minor skirmishes between communities in Dharwad.
Timely intervention by police averted the untoward incident.
A youth working in a private firm posted content that targeted a particular community, and soon the news spread like wildfire. Members of a pro-Hindu organization gathered near a dargah to catch the youth.
The incident occurred on Sunday in Dharwad near Busappa Chowk. Police took the youth into custody and sent him to judicial custody.
After the post circulated, Hindu forum members gathered in front of the police station demanding to hand him over. Later, police handled the situation smoothly and are keeping watch on the happenings in the area.
