Activists, local leaders and residents of Koppal are now forming teams, irrespective of political affiliations, to stop more industries from being set up in the district.

Activists said there will be one team from every village and more than 10 teams in the cities to save Koppal district from pollution. Several political leaders and activists recently met minister M B Patil and Union minister H D Kumaraswamy and requested them not to give their nod to more industries. Residents near Koppal town are now living in fear of developing diseases.
