UP Forest Dept Constructs 272-km Fence to Contain Human-Wildlife Conflict

The UP department of Forest and Wildlife installed approximately 231 km of chain-link fencing and 41 km of solar fencing across the forest areas between 2023-24 and 2024-25 to mitigate man-animal conflict, said a senior official.
"These efforts have significantly enhanced the safety of both wildlife and rural communities, including their livestock, which live near forest boundaries," the forest official stated.
