THE Pune Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Wednesday arrested Sheetal Tejwani in connection with a ₹1,800 crore land scam involving 40 acres of land near Pune, in which Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's elder son, Parth Pawar, is allegedly involved.
Authorities allege that Tejwani acted as an agent and falsified the power of attorney for Amadea Enterprises LLP, a firm where Parth Pawar is a major partner. Tejwani has given this controversial 40 acres of land to Parth Pawar by falsifying power of attorney documents, claiming the ownership of this land, while this land is Mahar Watan land that cannot be sold to anyone, officials said. She reportedly leased the land to Parth Pawar for five years.
