Nashik court convicts Maha agri minister in document fraud case

A Nashik district court on Thursday sentenced Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate to two years in prison and imposed a fine of ₹ 10,000 in a 30-year-old fraud case involving the illegal acquisition of two flats under the chief minister's discretionary 10% housing quota.
However, the minister was granted bail within two hours of his conviction and pronouncement of his sentence and fine. The NCP leader has approached the higher court for the relief.
