MOCK DRILLS CONDUCTED IN AND AROUND KARWAR

KARWAR and its surrounding places witnessed several mock drills to alert the public about any possible enemy attack.
These drills were part of pre-scheduled programmes in the wake of rising tensions between India and Pakistan. At the busy Ravindranath Tagore Beach, there was a sudden blast.
The loud noise echoed on the beach, the smoke filled the air and there were several dead bodies as part of the mock drill.
A siren blew aloud and the rescue squad, comprising personnel from Police, Coastal Police, Coast Guards, Home Guards, Fire fighters, City Armed Reserve and others rushed to the aid.
