Farmers Oppose Move to Change Railway Track Between Haddinagund and Halakund

Hundreds of farmers and residents staged a protest against the South Western Railways (SWR) recently in Ballari with a demand to stop the proposed railway track change, which stretches from Haddinagund to Halakund.

The farmers, fearing loss of land, are demanding that the track be rerouted to avoid encroaching upon their lands.

The suggested railway track route after the Haggari railway station runs through multiple villages, including Belagal, Honnalli, Mundrigi, Mincheri, Andralu, Maruthi Camp, Gonalalu, and Bisalahalli.

The protestors marched from Royal Circle to the Deputy Commissioner office where they submitted a memorandum of their concerns.
