DESCRIBING theft of a whopping 59 kilograms of gold from Canara Bank branch as one of the major cases of bank loot, Superintendent of Police, Laxman Nimbargi said that the police has got some important leads in this major bank heist.
It may be noted that a theft had taken place in the Canara Bank branch of Managuli Hobli in Basavanabagewadi taluk during the long weekend between May 23 and 25. The unidentified miscreants looted around 59 kg gold jewellery worth Rs 53.26 crore and cash amounting to Rs 5.20 lakh.
