Kerala PCB takes action against cancer centre for dumping medical waste in TN

'Action will also be taken against others for violating sections of Environment Protection Act'
AMID the escalating row between the governments of Tamil Nadu and Kerala over the illegal dumping of medical waste in Tirunelveli district, the Kerala State Pollution Control Board (PCB) has initiated legal action against the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) for the violation.
Following an intervention from the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the PCB has already issued a show cause notice to RCC over allegations of illegal medical waste dumping which has sparked widespread outrage among local residents and the Tamil Nadu government.
