DR G Viswanathan, founder and chancellor of VIT, was conferred with the prestigious Highly Noble Person Award by the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA) at its annual convention held in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The award recognises Dr Viswanathan's leadership in establishing VIT and his pioneering contributions to higher education in India. The citation lauded his enduring service not only in the field of education, but also in politics and societal development over the decades.
