Charge sheet filed in Ajithkumar custodial death case: CBI to HC

THE CBI informed the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court that in pursuant to the court's direction, it has filed charge sheet before the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Madurai on Wednesday through e-filing in the case registered over the custodial torture and death of a security guard, B Ajithkumar of Madapuram Badrakali amman temple in Sivaganga.
Responding to a batch of petitions filed in connection with the incident, the CBI counsel told the court on Wednesday that apart from five policemen — S Raja, A Anand, S Sankaramanikandan, G Prabhu, and G Kannan — who were initially arrested in the case, the chargesheet includes one more suspect — constable Ramachandran, the driver of the vehicle in which the victim was transported to different locations where he was tortured.
