A spiritual sojourn turned tragic in Dwarka on Thursday afternoon, as seven tourists—four young men and three young women—were swept away by powerful currents in the Gomti River triggered by a sudden surge in sea water levels.
The incident, which unfolded in Gujarat's revered coastal town, claimed the life of a young woman identified as Bhajeeshwari, whose body was later shifted to the government hospital for postmortem.
The group, reportedly from Jamnagar, was caught off guard by the violent currents.
