TN Launches Initiative to Bridge Talent Gap in Semiconductor Sector

IN a move to establish itself as a national hub for semiconductor talent and innovation, Tamil Nadu on Friday announced the launch of 'School of Semiconductor' initiative, a training programme to address readiness with India's first-of-its-kind in-situ semiconductor processing facility on the Central Polytechnic Campus in Taramani, here.

This new Centre for Advanced Semiconductor Technologies, backed by a ₹100-crore seed grant from the state government, will feature a small-scale, production-grade fabrication unit designed to drive applied research, rapid prototyping, and technology localisation. It will also serve as a skilling platform and startup incubator aimed at bridging India's semiconductor talent gap.
